Shipping Policy

DULCEDEPOT.COM GENERAL SHIPPING POLICY:
Our shipping charges are based on discounted UPS or USPS carrier rates that are passed right to the customer. There are a couple of factors that highly influence the cost of shipping – these include: shipment weight, the size (or dimensions) of the package, number of packages,  the destination address and the shipping method.

  • Shipment Weight – this includes all items that is being shipped as well as any air pillows or kraft paper inserts that keep the products from shifting inside the box during movement to you. Please note that the shipping weight might be 5 pounds if you only purchased a 3 pound bag of gummies. We want to keep your candy safe and unharmed - that is, until you eat it.
  • Size (Dimensions) of the package – to ensure that your candy purchase arrives in great condition, we do not overstuff boxes.  Like inflating a balloon, you do not want to put too much air into it otherwise it will explode. We also try to keep packages lighter than 50 pounds so that you (and the carrier person), don’t hurt themselves moving the candy along.
  • Number of Packages – If you purchase multiple units, it may be likely that you received more than one package delivered to your location. Because we do not like to overstuff the boxes, we’ll add a second box to safetly ship your candy.
  • Destination Address – like an airplane ticket, the further away from home you go, the more expensive the ticket might be.
  • Shipping Method – the shipping method refers to the speed of the delivery. The faster the shipping, the more expensive it may be.

 Now we get this question pretty frequently: “Why is my shipping so expensive? I bought a $100.00 outfit and paid $7.00 to ship it, but my $100.00 candy purchase shows the shipping to be over $20.00. Why the difference?” When comparing apples to apples, in this case shipping cost to shipping cost, you want to look at the total weight of the purchase, rather than the value of the purchase. The outfit that was purchased, even though might have cost $100, weighed less than 2 pounds for a relatively cheap shipping cost. When you purchase candy, a heavy and dense product, the purchase weight might have been over 40 pounds.

To preview the shipping charges, enter the items you want to order into your shopping cart. When you're done, click on "shopping cart" and then “check out”. The first stage of checkout is where you enter the shipping address and choose a shipping method. Dulcedepot.com offers UPS Ground, UPS 3 Day Select, UPS Second Day Air, UPS Next Day Air Saver, USPS First Class Package, USPS Priority Mail and USPS Priority Mail Express. Please note that regardless of the shipping method you selected, Dulcedepot.com requires up to 2 additional business days to process your order before the carrier picks up the items.

DELIVERY TIME AND RUSH ORDERS:
For customers that just can’t wait for our candy - well, we don't blame you! Please contact customer service before placing your order to discuss options available for rush delivery. Please keep in mind that Dulcedepot.com may require up to 2 additional business days to process your order before the carrier picks up the items.

Since UPS does not conduct standard business on either Saturdays or Sundays (even for express shipping) the actual delivery date may differ from the Estimated Scheduled Delivery Date as found on the Tracking confirmation email. For example: A packaged shipped via "Next Day" leaving our warehouse on a Friday for San Diego, will not arrive until Monday, even though it has a one day transit time. Please refer to UPS.com for more information.

Dulcedepot.com cannot be held responsible for any packages which are delayed due to unforeseen UPS/USPS delays such as "adverse weather conditions", "Beyond Carrier control", or "Missed at facility" - please plan accordingly. Dulcedepot.com offers tracking numbers for packages for reference use only; this estimated delivery date is only an estimate and Dulcedepot.com does not guarantee specific delivery dates.

HOT WEATHER SHIPPING (SHIPPING TO WARM LOCATIONS):
No one likes melted chocolate - unless you like chocolate fondue! Chocolate, gummies, and other confectionery products don't like to sit in heat for long periods of time. During the hot-weather summer period, Dulcedepot.com reserves the right to hold all shipments from being processed from our warehouse on Thursdays and Fridays to ensure that packages do not sit in a non-temperature controlled shipping warehouse over the weekend. If your package is held for this reason, we will have it shipped from the warehouse on the following business day.

Please be aware that we do not ship out orders with Ice Packs on Thursdays or Fridays, due to the fact that UPS/USPS do not deliver to all locations on Saturdays and Sundays.

REFUSED DELIVERY PACKAGE: 
Any packages refused at the point of delivery will be deemed as “abandoned property”. All refused packages will be returned to buyer at buyer’s additional expense or destroyed. No refunds will be issued for any packages which were refused delivery by any other shipping carriers. If you have any questions regarding why a package was refused for delivery, please contact UPS/USPS and have your tracking number handy.

UNDELIVERED PACKAGE: 
Before completing your order online, we strongly suggest that you check both your billing address and shipping address to ensure accuracy. From time to time, customers may incorrectly fill these fields and submit orders. Dulcedepot.com will only ship the products to the address that is supplied on the order. In the case that an incorrect address is supplied, UPS/USPS will try their best to contact the customer to confirm a correct address. If all attempts fail, UPS/USPS will send this product back to Dulcedepot.com.

If an order is unable to be delivered by UPS/USPS due to an incorrect address as provided by the purchaser, and the package is returned to Dulcedepot.com, there are two options available to the customer:

  • The Customer would still like the order reshipped: The customer is responsible to pay a $12.00 UPS/USPS Return-to-sender fee (an administrative fee from the shipping carrier), as well any secondary shipping charges to have the product reshipped to a corrected address.
  • The Customer would like to cancel the order: if the customer no longer wants the product, the amount refunded will be for the total purchase price less initial shipping & processing costs, less a $12.00 UPS/USPS Return-to-sender fee, as well as less a 20% restocking fee.

 UPS/USPS will make 3 attempts on business days to make a delivery. If an order is unable to be delivered by UPS/USPS due to the customer not being available for acceptance, and the package is returned to Dulcedepot.com, there are two options available to the customer:

  • The Customer would still like the order reshipped: The customer is responsible to pay a $12.00 UPS/USPS Return-to-sender fee (an administrative fee from the shipping carrier), as well any secondary shipping charges to have the product reshipped to a corrected address.

FREQUENTLY ASKED SHIPPING QUESTIONS:
If I place my order today, when should I expect my delivery?
The speed of the delivery depends on how the order was shipped and the destination to where it was shipped. Dulcedepot.com processes most orders within 24-48 business hours of confirmation of order. If you have selected a Ground/Standard/Free/Flat Rate shipping method, your delivery is between 3-5 business days once it has been picked up by the carrier. If you have selected a faster shipping method, your estimated delivery may be sooner. In general, please give up to two weeks and plan accordingly for the delivery. If you need the candy to arrive by a specific date, please contact customer service at 708-930-6100.

But wait, I need my candy really fast, do you have expedited shipping methods?
Dulcedepot.com does offer several shipping methods including 3-Day shipping, 2-Day shipping and Overnight shipments. Please keep in mind that Dulcedepot.com reserves up to 48-hours to process the order before shipping. How much does shipping cost / what is the cost to ship my order?
Shipping costs are based on a variety of factors including product weight and the destination of the package. Through our partnership with UPS and USPS, we have negotiated competitive rates and we pass our savings to you.

To obtain a shipping quote, please add all of candy products you are looking to purchase into your Dulcedepot.com Shopping Cart. When you're done, click on the "shopping cart", and then “check out”. The first stage of checkout is where you enter the shipping address and choose a shipping method. Dulcedepot.com offers UPS Ground, Three Business Day, Two Business Day, and 1 Business day shipping-options to all of our customers who place orders to be shipped in the United States. 

Why is shipping more expensive than the items I am purchasing?
Though Dulcedepot.com passes all of the savings directly to the customer, sometimes shipping seems expensive.  Shipping costs for any carrier rely heavily on three factors: the weight of the box (the heavier the package, the more expensive the cost), the destination of the package (the further away from the Midwest to ship, the more expensive the cost), and the speed of the service (the faster to deliver the package, the more expensive it may be).

Can you ship to POBOX or APO addresses?
UPS requires a physical address to make a delivery. However, USPS will deliver to POBOX or APO addresses.

Can Dulcedepot.com ship to locations outside the United States?
Dulcedepot.com does not currently ship outside the United States. Check back with us in the future to see if there are any changes.


Why does the shipped package weigh more than the items I purchased?
To ensure that your candy arrives in great condition, we take the utmost care to package the products securely with air pillows, packing peanuts, and/or packing paper. Therefore, any packaging material and insets added into the box may make  the package heavier.

Am I able to include delivery instructions for the shipping carrier?
We understand that customers may want the package delivered to a specific location at their residence or during a set time when they are available for convenience. At this moment, we are unable to relay these messages directly to the shipping carrier. If you have a request, please contact UPS or USPS Customer Care with your tracking number, and a care agent may be able to assist you with your request.

Is my order available for customer pick-up?
We do not offer customer pick-up at this time. Check back with us in the future to see if there are any changes.
